The Galle Fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Whale Watching

Hummanya
The “Hummanya” Blow Hole is a well-known attraction in the down South of the country and it certainly lives up to expectations. Seeing it is an exhilarating experience and one that shouldn’t be missed. Or WewurukannalaVihara
15 miles east of Matara is the town of Dikwella, where there is one of the most extraordinary Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. The WewurukannalaVihara temple is dominated by an image of a seated Buddha. It is 160ft high, the largest statue in all of Sri Lanka and dates back to the time of King Rajadhi (1782 - 1798). The temple has three parts, the oldest being about 250 years old; however this is of no particular interest.

Visit Yala National Park by Jeep. The park is rich from wild elephants, wild boars, wild buffaloes, leopards, bears, deer and crocodiles. Large flocks of migratory and also indigenous birds are also found here.

Buduruwagala
The gigantic Buddha statue still bears traces of its original stucco robe and a long streak of orange suggests it was once brightly painted. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is thought to be the Buddhist mythological figure-the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Ravana Falls
This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in high and cascade from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically.

Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Hindu Kovil, situated in the historic town of Matale is a very religious Hindu shrine in Sri Lanka that a visitor should not miss.

Aluvihara Matale
Aluvihāra; Luminous Cave Temple is synonymous with the teaching of the Buddha. Aluvihāra rightly assumes its significance in the annals of the history of world Buddhism. It is in this very location that was documented on palm-leaves.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala started a scientific captive-breeding programme for elephants. The free movement of the herd enhanced the chances for individuals of both sexes to get together and mate. The nearby river played a dominant role in this regard and in 1984, the first baby of Pinnawala was born.
