National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum in Galle, Sri Lanka is located in the Galle fort. On March 2010, it was reopened at the Dutch warehouse of the Galle fort as the National Maritime Archaeology Museum.

National Museum
The National Museum is housed in an old Dutch building near the Main Gate. The museum has displayed of traditional masks, information on the lace-making process, a few luxury items that once passed through the port, and religious items, including a relic casket. Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the south east coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. A walk along the streets in the Fort may feel you a difference.

Aluvihara Matale
The name Aluvihāra has many meanings and legends associated with it. It was originally known as ‘Alu-Lena’ or ‘Āloka-Lena’ (Luminous Cave) where the Buddhist Monks assembled and formed the Banapotha or the Buddhist Bible.

Three mighty ramparts with moats and drawbridges and guardhouses had been provided security. The water fountains and flower gardens surpassed the beauty of natural landscape. The pathway protected by a mirrored wall leads to the palace complex on the summit at a height of 583 feet above ground level.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala where some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but soon it became a conservational and an educational centre.
